Terms of Service for Shot
Effective date: July 5, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Shot, the iOS application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Who these Terms are with
The App is made available by Jakub Zitko, an independent solo developer ("we", "us", "our"). Shot is not operated by a company and does not maintain a physical office. For any question about these Terms, please contact us at jakub.zitko@icloud.com.
2. Acceptance of terms
By using Shot, you confirm that:
- You are at least 12 years old and, if under 18, are using Shot with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in the jurisdiction where you live.
- You will use Shot in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
If you do not meet these requirements, you may not use Shot.
3. Description of the service
Shot is a personal tracker for people who are taking GLP-1 medications (or similar prescription therapies) and would like to log their doses, weight, food intake, protein, side effects, and personal notes.
The App includes:
- A local database of your entries, stored on your device
- Optional Apple HealthKit integration
- Local reminders for shots and protein goals
- Charts and summaries generated on your device
- An optional Home Screen widget
- An optional premium subscription (Shot Pro) unlocking additional features
Shot is a software tool, not a medical service. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
4. Medical disclaimer
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY.
Shot is not a medical device. It is not FDA-cleared, not approved by any equivalent regulator in your country, and not intended to be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- The information you enter into Shot, and any calculations, charts, streaks, or reminders that Shot produces, are for your personal reference only.
- Nothing in Shot should be interpreted as medical advice, a prescription, a dose recommendation, or a promise of any particular outcome.
- Always follow the instructions of your prescriber and pharmacist. Do not change your medication, dose, or schedule based on what Shot displays. If there is a conflict between Shot and your provider, follow your provider.
- Consult your prescriber before starting, changing, pausing, or stopping any medication.
- Do not use Shot to make emergency decisions.
In an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately — for example 911 in the United States, 999 in the United Kingdom, or 112 in the European Union. Do not wait for Shot.
By using Shot you acknowledge that you understand these limitations and accept full responsibility for how you use the information Shot presents.
5. Your account and your data
Shot does not use accounts. All of your Shot data is stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for:
- Protecting your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID
- Keeping iOS up to date
- Backing up your device through Apple's normal iOS backup mechanisms, if you want that data preserved
We are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, iOS updates, deletion of the app, or user error. Where available, Shot's Pro export lets you save a local copy for your own records.
6. Acceptable use
You agree that you will not:
- Use Shot in any way that violates applicable law
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise extract the source code of Shot, except to the limited extent this is expressly permitted by law
- Modify or create derivative works of Shot without written permission
- Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of Shot or the App Store distribution mechanism
- Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to interact with Shot
- Impersonate any other person when contacting us for support
- Use Shot to record data on behalf of another person without that person's consent
- Use Shot in any way that could harm you or others, or that misuses medication information
We may restrict or terminate your access to Shot (including revoking premium entitlements) if we reasonably believe you have violated these rules.
7. In-app purchases and subscriptions
Shot offers an optional premium subscription called Shot Pro through Apple's in-app purchase system. By purchasing a subscription, you agree that:
- Apple handles billing. All payments, taxes, receipts, renewals, and refunds are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not receive your payment details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, as required by Apple.
- Managing your subscription. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple in line with Apple's policies. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue refunds directly.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, you must cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
- Price changes. If we change the price of Shot Pro, Apple will notify you in accordance with its rules, and you will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.
Premium features may be added, changed, or removed over time. Where possible we will preserve access to features you paid for during your current billing period.
8. Third-party services
Shot relies on Apple to distribute the App, process purchases, and provide the HealthKit framework. Your use of these Apple services is also governed by Apple's terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms & Conditions and Apple's Privacy Policy.
Shot does not integrate any other third-party service. We are not responsible for the behavior of Apple's services, but we will do our best to resolve issues that touch Shot itself.
9. Intellectual property
Shot, including its name, logo, source code, designs, copy, and content, is owned by Jakub Zitko and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your data, however, is yours: nothing in these Terms grants us ownership of the health information, notes, or other content you enter into Shot.
The rights we grant you are:
- A personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use one copy of Shot on iOS devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.
All other rights are reserved.
10. Feedback
If you send us feedback, feature requests, or bug reports, you agree that we may use them without any obligation to you. We appreciate feedback and will do our best to respond, but we are not required to.
11. Termination
You may stop using Shot at any time by deleting it from your device.
We may suspend or terminate your ability to use Shot (including premium features) if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continuing to make Shot available becomes commercially or technically unfeasible. If we discontinue Shot, we will try to give reasonable advance notice through the App Store listing.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Medical Disclaimer, Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law) will survive.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that Shot will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every possible attack, or that any specific reminder will fire at a specific moment (for example, if iOS delays background execution). You are responsible for using your own judgment when relying on the App.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, health outcomes, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of Shot, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or Shot is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us (through Apple) for Shot in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) five US dollars (USD 5).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. To the extent those laws apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and you may have additional statutory rights.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where mandatory local consumer-protection laws apply to you, they will continue to apply on top of these Terms.
Before bringing any formal claim, please contact us at jakub.zitko@icloud.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and publish the new version at the URL linked from inside Shot. For material changes, we will present an in-app notice on your next launch. Your continued use of Shot after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you can uninstall Shot at any time.
